A Fringe Festival is the place for audiences to see up and coming as well as professional performance artists. Types of performances could include puppetry, musical theatre, burlesque and improv. Why is there a $25 application fee?
Since this Fringe is a curated event, the application fee goes towards the curation process.
Don't forget that the application deadline is April 15, 2020, 9PM Pacific Time!
Ok, so that explains the $25 application fee, but tell me about the production fee. Oh, there is no production fee for the 2020 festival......
Yes, that's right - for those FRINGE familiar, you know that many festivals sell a 'button' which gives one entrance to the event. The button a runs about anywhere from $6 to $10. Then one decides which shows to see and purchases tickets to EACH of those shows individually. Those tickets run from $7 to $15 per show. Hi-DeF will be UNBUTTONED...Meaning that we are offering an all-access pass for the entire weekend, yeah!
(or other packages if one can't be there all three days) which, in turn, will allow one to see as MANY of the performances as one can!! Perhaps even ALL of them. Perhaps all of them Twice!!!
OH and the Parties, yeah, they are included with your UNBUTTONED ticket purchase!!
NO button and NO single ticket pricing......
What other costs are there?
The costs of coming to the Fringe varies greatly depending on the scale of your production, number of performers, etc., so there’s no one answer to this question.
Areas to budget for include:
Accommodations
Food
Travel
Fringe show application and registration fees.
Please note that the Hi-DeF Fringe does not pay any fees or expenses for participants. Each company needs to cover its own costs.
Do I have to be a Californian to apply to the Hi-DeF Fringe?
The Hi-DeF Fringe is an international festival and welcomes performers and audience members from around the world/across the globe.
What if I'm not a performer?
What???
All the world's a stage and we are mere players. Or something like that. However, if you insist on not being a performer.......no problem, there is always a way to help out at Fringe. Checkout our volunteer page for more info......or become a sponsor, or even advertise in our fabulous program book.
Will I be able to get my Hi-DeF FRINGE swagger on while I'm there?
Details to follow.....
